Mass. College Lax: BC, Springfield Pickup Early Season Wins

Here are the scores and results from today’s lacrosse contests.

Men’s Lacrosse 

Springfield College 20, Gordon 9: Ryon Lynch recorded five helper, while Ryan Murphy finished with a hat trick and two assists as the Pride cruised past the Fighting Scots in Wenham. Springfield’s Dom Roberto finished with three goals on four shots and Rob Maher recorded eight saves in 30 minutes.

The Fighting Scots were led by Jake Martin, who ended the contest with four points (three goals, one assist).

Springfield finished with 44 shots and 33 ground balls, while Gordon recorded 42 shots and 26 ground balls.

The Pride are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Rochester, New York to take on Nazareth at 12 p.m., while the Fighting Scots return to the grass next Saturday, March 1 when they host SUNY Cobleskill.

Women’s Lacrosse

No. 13/17 Boston College 18, UNH 7: The Eagles received four goals and two assists from Mikaela Rix, along with four goals from Brooke Blue as BC topped the Wildcats in Newton and improved to 8-9 overall against New Hampshire.

Moira Barry also located the back of the net, as she finished with three goals, while Cali Ceglarski recorded her first two strikes of the season.

The Eagles will remain in Newton this weekend when they welcome Ohio State in for a 12 p.m. opening draw.
